Rodford to strike with Kirbys

Yesterdays racing was competitive and Maurisca thoroughly deserved "Banker" status, coasting home at 2/1F. Our only success. Ride of the day went to Shane Byrne for his ride on 80/1 winner Alta Rock at Market Rasen. He seemed to be miles off and then suddenly swooped and passed about 6 or 7 horses in the straight to win. To see it, use the link and type "Alta Rock" into the search by horse tab. Racing UK Replays
Today provides very trappy and difficult racing before more very difficult stuff at Cheltenham through the week. These are mine for today: Quetzal (2.30 Plumpton), Bella Medici e/w (4.00 Plumpton), Midnight Ocean (5.00 Plumpton), Shadrack e/w (4.10 Stratford), Kirbys Glen (3.50 Taunton), Nobody Tells Me (4.50 Taunton).
Main selections are Quetzal, straight in handicap chases for in form yard, Bella Medici, who prefers better ground and could be improving, Shadrack, for an in form yard and the main one Kirbys Glen.
I will post again later regarding Cheltenham and co tomorrow.
Nap is Kirbys Glen

Good Luck

  1. Good morning Will.
This is my 2nd attempt at posting a reply after Explorer seemed to freeze, then my comment disappeared when refreshing the page. Bloody computers!
Anyway, I agree today's racing is moderate and potentially very tricky.
Cork All Star should be the proverbial racing certainty in the 4.40 at Stratford but I've gone slightly braver with my nap today in the shape of David Pipe's only runner at Plumpton - Shootin The Breeze.
Another comment follows with my eyecatchers across all 3 meetings - bet you can't wait!

  2. Will,

    Today's eyecatchers are:-

Plumpton - Illysantachristina and Mister Matt.
    Stratford - Royal Kicks
Taunton - Knight In Purple, Buailteoir and Semi Detached.

Suzy Smith's horses are back in form and she sends Royal Kicks to Stratford when Plumpton is on close to home.
Similar logic applies to Knight in Purple (J Mackie) and Semi Detached (J Unett) at Taunton.
Buailteoir is just a wild hunch.

Not a day to get stuck in, but every race has to have a winner!

Speaking of winners, my latest Cheltenham handicap fancy (picked in a sleepy state late last night) is De Boitron for Festival specialist Ferdy Murphy in the very last race of the meeting, the Grand Annual. Let's hope I'm right and can "get out" on a high.
