Tune back in to Wogan

Yesterday's action a bit of a mixture with a short priced favourites being felled at each meeting, Qozak (8/15), Hobsons Bay (10/11) and Baileys Agincourt (4/11).
Ride of the day was tight but I decided that James Millman's ride on  Irish Jugger in the last race at Southwell was fantastic. Hampered on the home turn, he stayed on the far side as Bring Sweets and Beau Fighter came together stand side and he then came and chinned them both right on the post. Very good.
In terms of my selections, Just Amazing, La Estrella (still unbeaten on the Fibresand!) and Ebanour all won at pretty short odds. Celtic Ballad fell when still holding every chance at Taunton and Kummel Excess bled very badly after the race and had to be retired. The other two, Dancing Partner and E Street Boy both ran shockers. Thats racing.
An end of an era for racing fans today as Michael Jarvis announced his retirement. He has had some great horses in the past such as Carroll House and more recently Rakti. He will now hand over to assistant Roger Varian, who i am sure will be a name to watch out for in the months and years to come.
Looking at todays action, these are the selections: Brunston (2.10 Ludlow), Our Columbus e/w (4.20 Ludlow), Battlecry (4.55 Ludlow), Raya Star (2.00 Doncaster), Wogan (3.40 Doncaster), Seren Rouge (4.10 Doncaster) and Breaking Silence (4.40 Doncaster).
The nap is Wogan
Good luck

  1. Hi
I think this is a good blog as it gives information about the last days racing and the day ahead. I also like the feature of best ride of the day making the blog quite addictive. My selection is Diktalina in the 2:45 at Ludlow as Alison Thorpe couldn't have got a better jockey than the champ.
    Good luck with your selections!

  2. Hey Will,
Delighted that one of your selections beat my nap! Well done Will (again!)
Task for my fave blogger please. Find me a price for the winners of the 4 championship races at the festival not being trained by Nicholls or Henderson.
    Thank you. Love Mum XX
