Minella Too Classy?

Yesterday's racing provided little clues towards Cheltenham and Aintree with Beshabar scrapping home and Raya Star winning but he made hard work of it too. In terms of ride of the day yesterday, that went to Nathan Alison for his ride on Lunar River in the last race at Kempton yesterday evening. Way back with 1 and 1/2 furlongs to run, he got a great late tune out of his mount down the outside to collar Grey Boy on the line. To have a look, use this linkhttp://horses.sportinglife.com/Video/Racing/.
On my selections, Raya Star gave us a good start at 13/8, but with Wogan badly disappointing in the Veterans chase and Brunston not coping with runaway winner Paintball. The closest we got was Seren Rouge, who looked the winner most of the journey but got outstayed by Al Co and Ackertac. This one will be winning soon with experience. Battlecry also ran creditably.
Todays feature race at Huntingdon, the Sidney Banks Memorial Novices Hurdle at 3.35 attracts a field of 5, but all of those won on their last start. Minella Class is the odds on favourite for Nicky Henderson, who I feel deserves to be after an impressive win in the Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown. The main challenger I think will be Pride In Battle, who looked very tough to pass in two wins at Newbury and will give the favourite a race of it.
Also, Starluck makes his chase debut in the Novice Chase at Huntingdon under new pilot AP McCoy. I feel he may get turned over as he has not schooled for long and the style of AP is very different of that of Timmy Murphy, who has ridden him on all his starts to date. Pascha Bere may beat him.
My selections today are: Overyou (2.20 Ayr), Sheriff Hall (3.55 Ayr), Justwhateveryoulike e/w (4.30 Ayr), Noakarad De Verzee (5.10 Huntingdon), Durham Express e/w (4.20 Southwell) and Roche Des Vents (7.10 Kempton)
Both each way selections look quite solid, especially Justwhateveryoulike, who I felt needed the run at Bangor and has been drop 7 pounds for that, leaving him on his winning mark. Overyou is the Jumps Nap. Roche Des Vents is the top selection. Definitely one to look at.

Good luck

  1. Hello again
Dikalina got outclassed by a very easy winner of Emma Lavelle's.
More confident on my nap today, Honourable Arthur in the 4.10 at Huntingdon as it won over C&D last time and i think has strong credentials today!

    Good luck with your selections!

  2. Hello
Honourable Arthur made my day as it courageously won at 11/4 for Victor Dartnall.I thought it was a great ride from Denis O'Regan as he was very strong in the saddle and the horse was very game to get up in the final strides!
Today, I go for Dan Breen in the three runner Novice Chase at Sandown.
